Kijlstra, one of the leading manufacturers of precast drainage products in Europe have been shortlisted in the prestigious Construction News Awards, 2011.
Nominated in the “Product Innovation” category, Kijlstra were able to demonstrate how their revolutionary precast square manhole systems are delivering real cost benefits to the construction industry.
Manufactured from self-compacting concrete and poured monolithically with benching to guarantee optimum size consistency and strength. This off-site ability means the Kijlstra system is cost effective in multiple ways, from requiring less men, materials and plant, to taking less time, and therefore money, to install.
Kijlstra’s square manholes have been specified by some of the UK’s largest contractors, including Costain, NMC Nomenca, Bam Nuttall and Laing O’Rourke – projects include Church Village bypass, South Wales and Leamington Spa sewerage upgrade works.
David Williams, director for Kijlstra UK said. “We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award. We believe this nomination is in recognition of the quality of our products and how we are providing the construction industry in the UK with a high quality, cost effective and innovative alternative to traditional manhole systems.
