It’s all change for Kijlstra UK in 2017.
Leading UK specialist drainage systems manufacturer Kijlstra is marking the New Year and its 10th anniversary in the UK with a new look and some new faces.
It is moving its operations entirely to the factory it opened last year to strengthen its already firm hold on the UK market due to the precast concrete solutions that deliver innovative and time and cost-saving methods of working.
Sales and admin who have been based at the company’s inaugural offices in Alderminster, Warwickshire, since the business launched in the UK will move in the New Year to join more than 40 production staff at the 8,000m2, 29-acre factory site in Henlade near Taunton in Somerset.
They will be joined there by several completely new faces – Matt Luckhurst as sales admin and project manager, Yadgar Tayfur as project manager and structural designer, Andrea Tucker as project manager and CAD, and Paul Hitchcott as sales admin.
The new factory was believed to be the first opening of such a facility in decades – an appropriate home for what are believed to be the most accredited manholes in Europe, with WRc and LABC approval as well as BS EN 5911-3 and BS EN 1917 under their belt. It also manufactures drawpits, CSOs and panel systems.
New moulds and production equipment played a key role in the refit of the building, whose offices will now be fully utilised, bringing the company’s total investment in the site to more than £5 million.
Hugo de Waal, manager UK, said: “These changes have been designed to further strengthen our sales force and project engineering capabilities, making the organisation and its servicing of customers’ requirements more effective.”
