Kijlstra is celebrating a double whammy after winning two coveted trophies at the MPT Supplier Awards 2012.
The precast drainage specialist won the Innovation award for its revolutionary square manholes and receiving a Highly Commended in the Overall Best Performer category.
The awards are organised by the MPT consortium of Laing O’Rourke, Volker Rail and Thales in recognition of how specialist contractors and manufacturers have contributed to the success of the high-profile Manchester MetroLink project which is using hundreds of Kijlstra’s 1200x900mm square manholes.
More than 140 industry professionals attended the black tie event at Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry.
Collecting the award on behalf of Kijlstra, director David Williams said: “We are delighted not only to receive both of these awards and be recognised as innovators within our industry but to be recognised for how our products have helped towards the success of this project.”
